For years, we've been building toward something big—and we're excited to finally share it with you.
At Advanced Family Law 2026, we'll be introducing the TXdocs Beta, a complete rewrite of the TXdocs platform using modern technology designed to support the next decade of innovation. While the TXdocs you know isn't going anywhere just yet, this new version lays the foundation for faster improvements, new features, and an even better user experience in the years ahead.
Beginning on August 10, all TXdocs Standard and Basic subscribers using our web-based Anywhere version can sign up to participate in the beta program. Following our webinar on August 20, the beta will officially become available, and subscribers who have signed up can enable the new experience whenever they're ready. If you've enrolled but haven't switched by August 24, your firm will automatically be moved to the beta. Note that users with a free trial, student, professor, TXdocsPlus, or TXdocs Classic (i.e., desktop application) account are not currently able to join the TXdocs Beta program.
Because the beta is enabled firm-wide, everyone in your firm will use the new version together. And if you decide you'd rather return to the current version, simply contact our support team and we'll switch your firm back to the Legacy version.
We Need Your Feedback
This beta isn't just an early preview—it's an opportunity to help shape the future of TXdocs. We're looking for 100 firms who are excited to explore the new platform and willing to tell us what's working, what could be improved, and what you'd like to see next.
One of the biggest changes you'll notice is the fresh, modern interface. We've also introduced a more intuitive assembly experience, including the ability to jump forward and backward during document assembly, giving you a clearer picture of where you are in the process and making it easier to review or update your work. You'll also discover our new Case Details screen, which serves as the central hub for accessing many of the features you use every day.

- Online Intake: Trusts Prospective Client intake now includes the name of the trust to be established, if known by the client
- Online Intake: automatic capitalization of client’s answers for names and locations
- 3 new Guardianship forms
- Probate form sets from Joel Norris’s workflow now automatically included
- Orders Admitting Will to Probate now include finality language responding to In re Estate of Wheatfall
- New Probate form: Declaration of Authenticity from TPC 12.0013(e)
- 3 local form updates in Family Law:
- Travis County Certificate of Conference is now included with all motions
- Updated McLennan County Standing Order
- Updated Comal County Request for Process
- New local Criminal Defense form: Attorney Fees and Expense Claim for Per Diem Appointment (Harris County)
- Added refinements to the Proposed Division for reimbursements and reconstitutions, including more consistent formatting and smoother editing.
- Added a helpful tooltip for adding new heirs in the Heirship Tree.
- Billing reminder emails can now be sent to clients with an outstanding balance directly from the firmwide reports. Flexible filters control who is included, a built-in template editor customizes the message, each email can be previewed before sending, and a PDF of the client's latest bill can be attached automatically.
- New batch client emails: the same letter, such as an attorney vacation notice, can now be generated and sent to an entire group of clients in one pass, using the same filters already available for billing.
October 1 - Suits involving DFPS: This course covering CPS hot topics will be hosted by Melissa Muñoz, the main contributor to TXdocs' library of CPS forms. Attendees will be presented with practical tips and tricks on for suits involving DFPS using the TXdocs documents. We will also provide attendees with a handout containing a checklist for items to discuss with the parent(s) when starting a case. Approval is pending for 1.0 hours of CLE credit for this course.
Imagine opening your inbox one morning to find a message from the Probate Court auditor explaining that a document you recently filed is missing language now required by Texas law. Not how you want to start your day!
This is exactly what happened to one firm after a staff member filed an older version of an Inventory, Appraisement, and List of Claims that predated a 2025 Estates Code amendment.
The good news? The current TXdocs form had already been updated before the law took effect. The outdated filing happened because an old version of the applicable form saved on the firm's file server was reused instead of assembling a fresh document in TXdocs.
It's a valuable reminder: when you assemble documents in TXdocs, you're using forms our team continuously monitors and updates to reflect changes in Texas law. Reusing old files may save a few moments, but it can also bypass the very updates your subscription is designed to provide.
