WIDOW-ORPHAN HANDLING

The readability of TXdocs documents has improved with the implementation of widow-orphan handling across all practice areas. Headings will no longer appear as the last line on a page. Instead, they will automatically move to the next page, ensuring each heading is followed by at least one line of text.

Picking a questionnaire to send to your client(s) has been overhauled and has never been easier. The new overview of the available questionnaires provides a short summary of each questionnaire, in addition to the option to preview the questionnaire in its entirety. A new search option enables filtering the questionnaires based on keyword(s). Customized questionnaires are now located on their own tab.

  • The new modern look of the Clients & Cases Manager has been applied to all client and case lookup screens. And, the active client or case in the Clients & Cases Manager is pre-selected when a lookup screen opens.
  • NEW: Text in the headers and footers will no longer wrap to the next line if there is enough space on the line, even when that means overlapping the next ‘column’.
  • Added support for the ‘Right to make decisions concerning the child’s education’ in the Family Law Rights and Duties table, based on House Bill 2945 of the 2025 legislative session. This right will only be included in the table if you’ve indicated that this suit will still be pending on or after September 1, 2025.
  • NEW in Document Assembly: Local forms will now be included in the search results when on the ‘All forms’ tab, making it easier to find the forms you’re looking for.
  • We’ve updated the form sets screen to make it easier to create new form sets. Form sets allow you to bundle forms into sets for quick selection for often used forms.
  • Fixed the Probate Annual Account Tool that would sometimes minimize TXdocs inadvertently.
  • NEW: Subheadings can now be removed from Probate documents. Just open the Format Wizard, navigate to the Subheading tab, and check the ‘Hide subheadings in probate documents’
  • Fixed the underlining of subheadings and numbered lists to not include the prepending spaces.
  • The decedent's date of death is now visible when the decedent is selected. When populating the tree for the first time, the decedent’s date of death can be entered as part of the setup dialog.
  • The date of death for divorced spouses can now always be entered. We removed the previous logic that disabled this field.
  • Updated formatting of dates when the date is marked as a ‘non-exact’ date.
  • NEW: Questionnaires can be archived to clean up the list of clients. Archived questionnaires can be easily viewed – and reopened - using the ‘Archived Questionnaires’ tab.
  • NEW: Questionnaires are automatically archived when a case or client is closed.
  • The option to add a new payment when preparing a new envelope is now only visible if the eFiling user has the ‘Admin’ role. The ‘Admin’ role is part of the eFiling firm setup and users and their permissions can be modified in the ‘Manage Firm’ option of the ‘Integrated eFiling’ menu.
  • The description of the document of a filing is a required field but was not marked as such.

The documents tab of the Case Manager is automatically refreshed after uploading a file.

  • Monthly Billing has been renamed to Periodic Billing, which fits the functionality better. Billing can be run any time, it does not have to be per month.
  • Aged Accounts Receivable report and the Accounts Billed report now include details by default. The checkbox can be turned off when desired.
  • Fixed an issue in the statement preview screen to prevent overlapping controls when the size was changed.
  • Report Unbilled Cases now has new filters to match the filters available in Periodic Billing.
  • Fixed an issue in the Single Statement screen: after omitting items from the overview, switching to a different case would lead to the ‘restore’ button to be visible when it shouldn’t.
  • New: the trust balance is now visible when adding a payment
