RESOLVE TO BECOME MORE EFFICIENT
The new year is here, and that means it's time to set some resolutions. 2025 is the year to help your firm thrive by increasing your workplace efficiency, and TXdocs is here to help! There are so many great time-saving features built into our software that many of our subscribers don't know about. From client intake to document assembly and eFiling, TXdocs is specifically designed to save you time.
Test your knowledge: are you familiar and comfortable with these 3 features? If not, we've created some brief videos to get you up to speed.
This tool is useful for case intake information as well as inventories, saving you time and reducing errors by allowing your client to enter the information directly. We have many preset questionnaires you can send to your client, or you can customize any questionnaire to best suit your needs. For a 2-minute overview of TXdocs' Online Intake system click here or below.
Also, if you correct a misspelling in the TXdocs Editor made during the document assembly process, that correction will be applied wherever that information appears in the document. Even better, these corrections will also be applied to the case file, so the spellings will be correct in future assemblies.
For more information about the TXdocs Editor click here or below to watch a 90-second video.
TXdocs' eFiling system includes a status window that allows you to see all your filings, their current statuses, and the associated documents. TXdocs also downloads your eFiling and eService history, providing an extra backup of your files. Our system also includes an inbox for your eServices. Best of all, we don't charge third-party eFiling fees for any of this - it's all included in your TXdocs Standard or TXdocsPlus subscription.

2025 LEGISLATIVE UPDATES

As the state welcomes the start of the legislative session on January 14th, our content team is ready to stay on top of any legislation necessitating changes to our forms. As always, we will make sure that any such changes are made in advance of the applicable effective dates. At TXdocs we pride ourselves on quickly adapting to changing laws and environments, so you can rest assured that our forms are always fully-compliant with governing law.

TXDOCS HOLIDAY PARTY

The TXdocs team and our loved ones gathered on December 7, 2024 for a night of food, games, and good conversation during our annual holiday party. We look forward to this night every year, where we can enjoy each other's company as we reflect on the past year and look forward to the next.

FEATURE HIGHLIGHT - HEIRSHIP TREE
TXdocs' heirship tree tool gathers and displays the potential heirs for intestate cases or other situations in which you need to determine heirs and their interest in the estate. Saving your heirship tree on the Tools tab allows you to store this data for later use when assembling certain probate documents such as the Application, Affidavit of Heirship, and Waivers for Heirs. You can also conveniently print the heirship tree to give to judges and ad items.
We recently added the ability to export your completed heirship tree as an image so it can be professionally printed to your desired size. We also recently upgraded our heirship tree tool to allow you to account for great-great-grand niblings. What is a "nibling" you may ask? This gender-neutral term refers to a child of one's sibling, serving as a replacement for "niece" and "nephew".
The heirship tree can be found in the Practice Tools menu under Probate Tools. For more information on our heirship tree tool click here or below.

WEBINAR RECORDING - INTRODUCING MODERN WILLS

If you missed our webinar on December 5th - hosted by Board Certified Attorney Joel Norris - you can watch a recording here or below. In this webinar you'll learn how to use the new Norris Modern Wills to simplify the estate planning process.

FORMZ UPDATE

In 2024, we received 377 unique requests for content improvements and new forms. We issued ten releases last year, with a total of 220 FormZ requests fulfilled. Most notably, we revamped the Wills volume to respond to many requests for a clear, concise, easy-to-use and complete volume for basic estate planning.
As a refresher, "FormZ" (pronounced "form-zee") is what TXdocs calls our proprietary software to track subscriber requests for new forms, fixes, or improvements. For a complete list of the content and software updates included in our prior releases click here or on the button below.

TIPS AND TRICKS

How can I quickly access the forms I assemble most often?
While selecting forms to assemble, the Favorites filter (identifiable by the star icon) provides a way to quickly find and select forms you assemble often. TXdocs tracks which forms you use most often and adds them to the list, but you can also manually add and remove forms in this list. You can filter for the forms on your Favorites list when searching for forms on the Document Assembly tab.
Can TXdocs merge my files before eFiling?
Yes! Most counties require documents to be filed as separate PDF files, but there are some who require all files to be merged into a single PDF. To do this in TXdocs, on the tab where you select the documents to eFile, click the link labeled "I'd like to merge multiple documents into 1".
