SEPTEMBER SOFTWARE UPDATES

Our release on September 14th included a lot of great software updates. Among these are:
Integrated eFiling
Integrated eFiling
- A new step has been added to the "New eFiling" window to allow the redaction of documents that you eFile.
- This new feature works with the state-provided redaction tool to guarantee compliance with the state's systems.
- Integrated eFiling now automatically filters out payment types that are not supported by the selected court.
- For example, if a court doesn't accept Amex cards, that payment type would not be available (therefore preventing a filing error).
- Format Wizard now features two buttons to quickly configure TXdocs to style your documents:
- the "Modern Style" - this matches the recommendations of Matthew Butterick's "Typography for Lawyers"; and
- the "Traditional Style" - this will ensure that your documents look more like classic legal documents.
- Format Wizard now includes the ability to add a multi-line header and footer. You can even have different font sizes and font styles in the same header or footer.
- "Tracking only" timeslips are now available, enabling you to track the time spent on a case without billing for the time (for instance, when you have taken on the case for a fixed fee).
- We've added a new Case Status report in Billing Manager to get a quick overview of your cases and show how much is billed and unbilled.

NEW STUDENT VERSION OF TXDOCS

Big news: TXdocs has a new student version! Many Texas law and paralegal programs teach their students to use our software, so we proudly offer TXdocs free of charge to all in-state law schools and paralegal programs.
Once a school is set up in our system, students will be able to register for a free license of the TXdocs Student Version using a code provided to their professor. We also provide free licenses of TXdocs to professors teaching our software in their courses.

FEATURE HIGHLIGHT: PROPOSED DIVISION TOOL

Did you know that mediators and judges love our proposed division tool? With this tool you can simply click on columns to allocate items between the parties, with a running total re-calculated as you go.
With a single click you can print out the proposed division plan or export to Excel. You can even create multiple plans and switch between them to compare.
This tool can be accessed in TXdocs on the "Tools" tab under "Practice Tools" and then "Family Law Tools".

WEBINAR RECORDING - TRICKY PROBATE SITUATIONS

Handling some probate issues by traditional means can be both cumbersome and costly. Last month TXdocs hosted a free webinar discussing how to effectively use lesser-known probate alternatives to accomplish better outcomes for clients. You can watch a recording of the webinar here or below.
This webinar is presented by Joel A. Norris. Mr. Norris has been a licensed Texas attorney since 2009 and is Board Certified in Estate Planning and Probate Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. He is also the author of TXdocs' Norris Modern Probate System.
